The book aims to illuminate the truth about many controversial moments in the development of the First and Second Bulgarian states. The author discusses 10 cases in which the misinterpretation of certain events or their outright fabrication led to the imposition of a false picture of the era in the public mind. On the basis of source data and historiographical literature the genesis of these myths is pointed out and what really happened is clarified.
