Tatyana Braga. The names of Bulgarians in Bolgrad (Southern Bessarabia): Part I. The Identity of Bessarabian Bulgarians between Language, History, and Migration
Имената на българите в Болградско (Южна Бесарабия)
Language: Bulgarian
The monograph examines anthroponymic data from the village of Tabak (Bolgrad) in Southern Bessarabia – a settlement that emerged as a result of mass Bulgarian migration during the Russo-Turkish War of 1806–1812. The material reflects the naming system of the Bulgarian diaspora outside Bulgaria. The analysis traces the development of naming from the end of the 18th to the beginning of the 21st century under the influence of sociocultural, religious, linguistic, and migration factors in a multilingual and multinational environment.
