Bulgarian Dialectal Culinary Dictionary
Български диалектен кулинарен речник
Language: Bulgarian

The dictionary presents the rich and archaic layer of folk vocabulary associated with Bulgarian culinary culture as part of the national identity. It includes dialectal terms—names of foods and beverages and the methods of their preparation—recorded in archival and published sources from the late 19th century to the present. It has a broad geographic scope—it encompasses the lexical richness of the dialects spoken throughout the entire historical territory of Bulgaria, and for the first time also reflects the dialects of the Bulgarian diasporas in Banat and Bessarabia (Ukraine and Moldova).
