The book presents the first comprehensive study on the issue of Bulgaria's relations with the Jewish state. The theme of the salvation of Bulgarian Jews is continued and its projections after the Second World War are traced. The specifics of Bulgarian-Israeli relations, the differences in Soviet and Bulgarian policy on the Jewish question and Bulgaria's place as a kind of mediator between Moscow and Tel Aviv during the Cold War are highlighted. The participation of the Jewish population in the development of socialist Bulgaria is analyzed, as well as the activity of the Public Cultural and Educational Organization of Jews in this period. The book is based on archival material, with documents from the Zionist Archive in Jerusalem and the Archive of the Commission on Files in Bulgaria shedding new light on the facts.
