The Fathers of European Politics: Caius Iulius Caesar & Imperator Caesar Divi filius
Бащите на европейската политика: Caius Iulius Caesar & Imperator Caesar Divi filius
Category: History of Ancient Rome
Language: Bulgarian
The book consists of two parts: the Creator Caius Iulius Caesar and the Follower Imperator Caesar Divi filius (Octavian). The title of the monograph is not so much an allusion to the "Founding Fathers of the United States," who even recited Roman suffrage, but rather an exploration of the role and significance of Roman politics, law, and culture for Europe. What stands out is the observation that the data on the political, ideological, economic, psychological and cultural crisis in which Roman society fell at the end of the 2nd and the first half of the 1st century BC are as surprising as they are revealing. And this is because the analyzes create a historical mirror in which all the ills of our time can be seen: from the widespread corruption, the lack of compliance with the laws, the emergence of today's "white collars" and the mafia, through hyperinflation to the belief that only the "strong hand" will be able to bring back the "good past".
