   Analyzing the old Bulgarian necropolises from the territory of Ukraine, Bulgaria, Romania and Italy, the author brings out the main characteristic features of the Bulgars burial traditions. With the obtained result, the author traces the Bulgarian migrations and contacts and looks for the analogies in Central Asia that may suggest where these traditions come from. In the course of this research, we get answers to important questions: what racial type did the ancient Bulgars belong to; when and where did the Bulgars come from; where does the practice of cremation come from in bi-ritual Bulgar necropolises; who are the real Bulgars and who are only called that; who are their allies and who merge into the Bulgar ethnic group.
