   Omar Khayyam (1048—1131) was an Iranian mathematician, astronomer, philosopher, but he left a particularly significant mark in history as a poet. The first part of this book is an in-depth essay on Omar Khayyam's activity as a man of exact sciences and his contribution to their development — solving a cubic equation, creating an accurate calendar, philosophically understanding reality and others. The second part is an attempt to analyze his quatrains (rubā).
