Hristo Silianov (1880–1939) was a renowned scholar of the struggles of the Macedonian and Thracian Bulgarians and a participant in the Macedonian and Thracian revolutionary movements. He served as a voivode in Macedonia and Thrace from the time of the Ilinden–Preobrazhenie Uprising through the Balkan Wars. Silianov was also one of the prominent political figures of the 1920s and 1930s; his political activities were linked to Dr. Tsankov’s Russophile Party and to Prof. Alexander Tsankov’s “Agreement.” He was an established publicist and poet, and the author of memoirs on the revolutionary struggles. His body of work is significant in both volume and value, but he died before he could complete his magnum opus, *The Liberation Struggles of Macedonia*. This volume includes his diaries, articles, and studies, which shed light on the development of the Bulgarian national question and little-known chapters of our history.
