A Look at the Modern Period. Europe in the 16th—18th Centuries
Author:
Petko Petkov. Language: Bulgarian
Category: Early Modern History

The author offers an original account of European history during the 16th–18th centuries. The reason for devoting a separate work to this period is the existing lack of information regarding the events and processes of these three centuries, compared to the turbulent 19th and 20th centuries.
The narrative focuses on the major events in the leading nations of the Old Continent that shaped the course of European civilization during this period. The focus is on the development of historical processes in Spain, the Netherlands, England, France, the German lands, Russia, and the birth of the United States. At the same time, the development of the economy, social structures, and political systems is traced on a pan-European scale. Special attention is given to certain processes common to Europe, such as the Reformation and the Enlightenment.
