Kiril Topalov. Through Centuries and Words: Articles and Studies
Category: Literature of the Bulgarian National Renaissance
Language: Bulgarian
The book presents articles and studies on some of the significant phenomena and processes in the development of Bulgarian literature and culture during the National Revival period. Some of the studies are devoted to the work of individual Revival writers, others — to more general and specific phenomena of literary development in the plan of their not only aesthetic significance, but also typological comparability. Some works deal with issues related to the role of the Mont Athos in the pro- and anti-Byzantine narrative in Bulgarian Revival culture, the immense work of I. Shishmanov — the apostle of Bulgarian science, the specific function of monastic memoirs, the place and role of Rakovski and Rigas in the cultural-historical patterns of the Balkan Revival between the "Byzantine" dream and the modern times, the building of the cult of Cyril and Methodius and Clement Ohridski during the Bulgarian Revival, the mission of the Miladinov Brothers as guardians of Bulgarian spirituality, etc. are studied.
