     The period from 15th to 17th century, when the Medieval Bulgaria ceased to exist and its lands and people became part of the Ottoman Empire, is at first glance clear as a political situation and general history. But, while researchers are focusing on global events and their final outcome, many aspects of everyday life, spiritual and cultural development remain in the shadows. How and why the settlement and road system has changed? What changes occurred in cult and residential architecture? What have people maintained or changed in their way of life and belief? How the new cultural model has formed, which, despite all controversy and national bias, gained popularity as Ottoman?
