Evgenia Krusteva-Blagoeva. Food and Culture
Category:
Food studies
Language: Bulgarian

The edition combines approaches typical of ethnology (eating in Bulgarian lands over the centuries and food in traditional holidays) with the research perspectives of cultural anthropology, which analyzes taste, the relationship between taste and identities, the types of places to eat as places of everyday life, the concepts of fast food/slow food, the commodification of food, etc. The variety of topics is complemented by numerous empirical examples from the author's field research, for example Bulgarians and McDonald's, Bulgarian migrants in Munich, Balkan restaurants in Sofia, etc.
