The Bulgarian Monarchy. Volume 3: The Golden Age of Bulgaria (893—971)
Българската монархия (893—971). Том 3. Златният век
Category: First Bulgarian Kingdom
Language: Bulgarian
The century of Tsar Simeon and his successors transformed medieval Bulgaria into a great power equal to the European empires. Apart from the wars they waged to gain dominance in the Pax Romana Christiana, the kings of Preslav decided to turn Bulgaria into an ideal Christian kingdom. To this end, they adopted the Slavonic script, marking the beginning of Pax Slavia Orthodoxa. Great kingdoms rose and fell, mighty dynasties were born and died, but the memory of the king who, when not at war, wrote books, lived on.
