The Forest Brothers: A German soldier together with the Estonian partisans
Original title: Един германски войник при естонските партизани

Language: Bulgarian
Category: Cold War

The book is devoted to the history of the so called Forest Brothers the partisans in the Baltic states, who are fighting against the Soviet occupation after the end of World War II. The history of the partisan movement was told through the personal fate of a German soldier who fell into Russian captivity in 1945, managed to escape from the internment camp in Estonia, and then joined the local guerrillas.

With his Estonian comrades he again confronts the Red Army. The Forest Brothers are committing armed robbers to finance their fight, blowing up railroads to disrupt supplies to the Soviet army, eliminating collaborators and representatives of the Soviet occupation power. In this activity, they are strongly supported by the Estonian peasants, who are some of the most affected by collectivization, made by Soviet model.
