The Russian Emigration in the town of Varna (1919—1947)
Original title: Руската емиграция във Варна (1919—1947)
Language: Bulgarian
The increased interest in migration processes in Soviet Russia after the October 1917 determines the topic of the present study. The importance of Varna in the emigration process as a portal to Bulgaria, the Balkans and Europe is turning it into one of the key cities of Russian emigration. Some of the emigrants settle in the seaside town and adapt to the new environment: they created emigrant organizations, a Russian school and a church community, which became consolidating factors for the preservation of their national self-awareness, their national identity and the idea of the revival of Russia.
