   In this richly illustrated edition the author describes the Kapantsi grandmothers from the village of Sadina and the unique Kapantsi embroidery that reveal one little known and extremely colourfl world preserved on the territory of several municipalities in Razgrad and Targovishte district (Northeast Bulgaria). Folklore and folk traditions are on of the most significant aspects of Bulgaria's contribution to European culture. Many researchers report a self-contained way of life or excessive conservativeness of the Kapantsi, which was the reason for their material and spiritual culture to remain almost unchanged over the centuries.
