From "La Strada" to "The Hours": From the Sufferers to the Independent Female Characters in the Cinema
От „Ла страда“ до „Часовете“ — от страдащите до независимите женски образи в киното
Category: Cinema / Theatre
Language: Bulgarian

Do you remember that unique feeling of walking out of a movie theater after you've just seen an impactful movie and you're dying to talk to a friend who's already seen it and has an opinion. Good films differ from the rest precisely in this way — they live beyond the immediate cinematic experience, in a sense they even begin their other life with the closing credits and continue it or become a conversation themselves. This book  about women in cinema  is like a series of conversations with competent interlocutors who help you relive classic stories from the screen, wish to see them with new eyes, and in the process learn something more about yourself. Brilliant movie collection!

Through the window in Dr. Freud's office (which overlooks the backyard at Berggasse №19 in Vienna), I "saw" as if on a screen the possibilities of intelligent psychoanalysis (not naive) to "read" the cinema in its own way. Perhaps an unconscious association with Hitchcock's "Rear Window" (1954)? This book is about such a possible reading of 30 selected films.
