   The book describes one of the largest confrontations in the history of Europe: a true battle of titans that changed the future of the continent. The confrontation between the two empires is not just a military conflict, it is a clash of value systems and even civilizations. The Habsburgs are considered the defenders of European cultural traditions and Christianity. Their struggle is not simply for territory, but for the imposition of a model built in Europe over a millennium. The Ottoman Empire was the emanation of Islamic development and for them fighting the infidels was a religious and civilizational duty. The Ottomans ruled huge territories on three continents and alone in the entire history of Islam controlled all the key cities for them: Constantinople, Jerusalem, Mecca and Medina. For centuries, the struggle for supremacy between the two empires would shake the Old World, and the consequences of the conflict can be traced even to contemporary Europe.
