The expansion and the cultural-political influence of the Latin world in the Balkans (the territories permanently belonging to the Orthodox East) is carried out by various means — both from the periphery of the West in the face of the powerful Hungarian kingdom and from the leading economic powers such as Venice and Genoa, or by the universal tool of the Roman Church specially created to serve the crusading idea — the Templar and Hospitallers orders.
