Bulgarian town municipalities in Macedonia (1878—1903)
The book analyses the status, characteristics, competences and activities of the Bulgarian municipalities in Macedonia from the Berlin Congress to the Ilinden-Preobrazhenie uprising (1878—1903). Bulgarian municipalities were the most mass, legal, public institutions. They served as guardians of the national identity of the Bulgarian population in Macedonia under the Ottoman rule.
