     This original diary of the Balkan War is written on the front by the military priest Ivan Dochev. The author is a participant in the war and the events chronicled are recorded daily. The descriptions of villages in Eastern Thrace are authentic; they contain data on the number of houses, the traditional culture, the behavior of the local population. Of particular interest is the description of entry into Edirne after its takeover  the attitudes towards foreign cultural heritage such as the famous Selimiye Mosque, the behavior of Turkish and Greek communities in the city, meetings with the Russian consul and others.
