   The monograph examines specific national cultural features that influence educational models in the family and educational environment in the period of early and preschool childhood. Distinctive features of the national character are a key factor that determines behaviour in various social situations in the present and the transmission of experience and knowledge to future generations. Dimensions of culture as reflected in parenting behaviour reveal the characteristic cultural specifics that influence patterns of childhood upbringing. The results of a study of parenting styles in the Bulgarian context show how sociocultural requirements shape educational practices, behaviour patterns and communication in the family.
