Dressing up the Nudity: Transformations of the Image in the Story of Narcissus and Echo
Обличане на голотата. Трансформации на образа в сюжета за Нарцис и Ехо
Language: Bulgarian
The monograph is devoted to the construction of a new theoretical concept of image, which is oriented both to the visual and to the verbal, both to the image in art and in poetry. The story of Narcissus and Echo, told by Ovid in Book III of his Metamorphoses, serves as a starting point for developing the problematic of the image. The face and its mirror counterpart, the voice and the echo, the matter and its enliven intertwine to build a complex relief of possibilities to think and understand the image.
