From linguistic geography to areal linguistics: Theory and practice of the analysis of late phenomena in the Bulgarian language
От лингвистична география към ареална лингвистика
Category: Linguistics

Language: Bulgarian

Based on the names of two cultivated plants, the tomato and the eggplant, the book models the possible applications of areal analysis and examines how deep it can go. The author summarizes what has been achieved in Bulgarian linguistic geography and brings to the surface the questions that areal linguists ask themselves when analyzing a map, and builds a bridge over which one can move from linguistic-geographical research to areal linguistics in the sphere of Bulgarian studies.
