"Ah, It Was Raining!" is the first book about Gustav Weigand's contributions to the field of Bulgarian and Balkan studies. The book consists of three parts. The first part includes the two publications of the German scholar Gustav Weigand on the admirative in the Bulgarian language from 1924 and 1925, their reviews from 1926 and 1928, and a translation of the German version of the Bulgarian publication. The second part presents two studies on the admirative in Bulgarian and in Albanian. The third part contains several texts on Gustav Weigand: a chronological account of his life and work, a detailed description and analysis of his contributions to Bulgarian studies, a selected annotated bibliography, and a selected bibliography of publications about him and his works. The title of the book, "Ah, it rained!", makes reference to the use of this example in Weygand's article, an example that later became representative in many works of Bulgarian and foreign linguists in explaining the admirative meaning of perfective forms in the Bulgarian language.
