Българите за жаргона, вулгаризмите и професионалната лексика
Category: Linguistics
The book is a study of the attitudes of part of Bulgarian society to three stylistically marked lexical layers of the Bulgarian language. Based on a survey of 677 participants, it is monitored how appropriate is the use of jargon, vulgarisms or professionalisms in various communicative situations. The differences between the attitudes of the inhabitants of large and small cities are presented. There are differences between the assessments of students and people who have completed their education. Attention is drawn to the different evaluations given by men and women to the use of jargon, vulgarism and professionalism, outlining some sexist attitudes and stereotypes regarding women's speech behavior.
