     The clash between Tsar Samuel and Emperor Basil II, between Bulgarian kingdom and Byzantine Empire, finally come to an end. It has been a clash between two worlds. On one side is the world of fthe Byzantine Empire, solidly built on the foundations of Roman state tradition, Hellenic cultural heritage and Christian religion. Against itself the empire has the Tsardom of Bulgarians and their Eastern state-structure, influenced by the Alans, Avars, as well as Byzantines themselves. And if the tsardom perishes, then the Bulgarian people survived. The Christian faith did not become a bridge for the meltdown of the Bulgarians, but further consolidated their vitality in the coming centuries.
