Samuil Kamburov. Lebanon Between the East and the West
Самуил Камбуров. Ливан между Изтока и Запада
Category: Arabian Studies
Language: Bulgarian

Lebanon is a small but strategically located country in the Middle East. It is not only geographically but also culturally and historically a crossroads between East and West. The country's location makes it a contact zone between the eastern Mediterranean coast and the interior of the Arab world. The region of Lebanon has also been a key point of interaction, exchange, and conflict between different civilizations over the centuries. This location determines its unique role in the cultural and political context of both the East and the West.
The book attempts to provide a historical overview of the development of the strategic interests of European countries and the United States in Lebanon and their attempts to influence internal political processes by providing assistance related to economic recovery, military cooperation, and efforts to strengthen democracy. On the other hand, Lebanon is part of the regional conflicts and diplomatic efforts of the Middle East countries, which places it at the center of internal and external geopolitical tensions.
