The archives of the Bulgarian Revolutionary Central Committee (BRCC): Source studies
Архивът на Българския революционен централен комитет
Category: Bulgarian National Revival
Language: Bulgarian

The book includes two source studies dedicated to the Bulgarian National Revival  "An Attempt to Reconstruct Unsaved Letters of BRCC Figures from 18701872" and "Lyuben Karavelov and the Fate of the BRCC Archive: Rumors and Facts" (published in 1986).
The reconstruction of the lost correspondence of Bulgarian Revolutionary Central Committee (BRCC) from 18701872 on the basis of the fragmentary secondary data, preserved in other documents, allows us to look in depth at the ideological development and institutional formation of the most radical Bulgarian political organization in the 19th century.
The second study is dedicated to the fate of the BRCC archives. The author examines the rumors spread since the National Revival about the transfer of the archives to the Ottoman authorities by Lyuben Karavelov and proves their insolvency and shows how a conspiracy theory, put forward by political opponents or disappointed supporters, can affect popular historical memory and still be present in some historical studies.
