The Russo-Turkish war through the eyes of an American journalist: Excerpt from the Edward King's book Europe in Storm and Calm (1888)
Original title: Руско-турската война през погледа на един американски журналист
Language: Bulgarian

The merits of some of the war correspondents for popularization the Bulgarian cause and the Russo-Turkish War (MacGahan, Forbes, Utin, Nemirovich-Danchenko, Green) are familiar, but the names of others, who dared to walk from the Danube to San Stefano, along with the warring armies, are either forgotten or completely unknown. This group includes the Boston Journal correspondent Edward King (18481896). He leaves a recognizable trace in the coverage of the war, not so much with its front-line notes, as with the meaningful and analytical text on the Balkan experience, included in the book "Europe in Storm and Calm" (1888).
