   Father Evstati is the martyred priest from town of Chepelare (Rhodopes Mountains) who was brought in for questioning by Communist authorities in 1952 without explanation and beaten almost to death. The local population calls him the Bishop of Rhodope, because of the great respect for his spiritual life and pastoral ministry.
