The Idea of Reincarnation on the East and West
Language: Bulgarian

The idea of reincarnation is being considered in two major strands which we could call pessimistic and optimistic. In the first strand incarnation is understood as a closed-circuit of samsara, of a profane existence, the liberation of which is very desirable.

The second strand considers reincarnation as a gradual development of the soul and an opportunity for its spiritual growth and continual improvement. Here every subsequent incarnation is both a correction of the karmic factors of the past and the potential for spiritual growth. The simplified view attributes the pessimistic interpretation to the East, while the optimistic to the West. In fact the two lines of interpretation of reincarnation exist in both geographical realities.
