Bulgarian Counterrevolutions and the End of Ideologies
Българските контрареволюции и краят на идеологиите
Category: Political science
Language: Bulgarian
Counter-revolutions primarily construct a landscape. They break down the accents that shape revolutionary dynamics. The traumatic boundaries left over from revolutionary times on Bulgarian cultural space are blurred. Revolutionary ideas, which had the claim of universality, are being adapted to a sense of unwritten morality. Cast adrift, these ideas lose their beginnings and become banalised as symbols of a bygone time. They are not destroyed, but forgotten and rendered meaningless. Counterrevolutions are a compromise between the centre and the periphery, between the global and the local, between the pre-revolutionary past and the post-revolutionary future. In this compromise, remnants of dead times, revolutionary orders and post-revolutionary perspectives coexist.
