Japan in World War II (History of Wars 21)
Япония във Втората световна война
Category: World War II; Japanology
Language: Bulgarian
World War II has traditionally been analyzed through the prism of events on the European continent. At this time, however, East Asia is going its own way, which significantly affects the balance of world politics. Japan is rapidly developing and building an imperial concept that aims for complete dominance and great power status. Its ambitions were fueled by ancient traditions, a marked militarization of society and the country's strong economic growth in the 1930s, combined with a oppresive regime. All this escalated into a full-scale conflict in the Asia-Pacific region, which became an incommensurable tragedy due to the technological progress in weapons systems and the lack of scruples among the rulers in Tokyo. The Fifteen Years' War left a lasting impression on the Japanese as well as on all peoples of this part of the globe, and also defines the international relations to this day.
