    The proposed work is part of the project "Relations between the Church and the State in Communist Bulgaria (1944—1989)". The book presents rich archival material illustrating the relationship between the Church and the State in Bulgaria during the Socialism/Communism (1944—1989). At the period the Bulgarian Orthodox Church is almost entirely subordinate to the Communist power, guided by the Central Committee of the Bulgarian Communist Party through the Directorate on Religious Denominations.
