   The book reflects the important role that personal relationships, kinship and family play in public life and in the organization of the Bulgarian bourgeoisie in the 19th to the middle of the 20th century. Examining the state of the political system, internal circles/networks are outlined, based on different types of connections: family, personal, educational, professional, corporate, clientelistic and their importance in the process of integration or disintegration of party formations and their elites.
