   The monograph is dedicated to Marko Totev (1858—1936) — one of the founders of the judicial system in Bulgaria, a noted lawyer, member of the National Assembly, prominent public figure. Due to his proverbial passion for gambling, for generations of Bulgarians Marko Totev has become a symbol of a failure, ill-fortune and a bad luck. The aim of the book is to present the life and work of Marko Totev — one of the emblematic figures in Bulgaria from the end of 19th century to the 1930s.
