Tsonev, Radoslav. Bulgarian Colloquial Syntax
Българският разговорен синтаксис
Category: Linguistics
Language: Bulgarian
The subject of the study are the syntactic constructions that arise in informal communication (repetitive, elliptical, reconstructions, hyperbats, anacoluts, etc.), the different word order, the specific use of the compositional and subordinating connectors (defined in the syntactical literature as conversational), the frequent presence of asyndetism (disjointed connection of individual elements in the utterance), the competition between parataxis and hypotaxis arising in the conversation, etc. All these characteristic features clearly distinguish the colloquial syntax from the syntax of the Bulgarian literary (normative) language.
