Love to the science, love to the people: Student organizations and unions in Bulgaria (1931—1939)

The study is dedicated to the Bulgarian student organizations in the 1930s. The main focus is on the formation of nationalist, socialist, anarchist, agrarian and communist students' groups. The author examines organizational structure, ideology and activities of the student organizations, their struggles and interactions between them and between academic and state authorities (political police in particular). The attention is also given to the outside influences on student formations, especially those of fascist Italy, Hitler's Germany and the Bolshevik Soviet Union. The aim of the study is to present the different forms of student organizations and to determine their influence and significance in the socio-political development of Bulgaria in the 1930s.
