The Banat Bulgarian standardized language in the context of Slavic microlinguistics: History, dynamic of the form and language policies
Банатският български книжовен език в контекста на славянската микролингвистика
Category: Linguistics
Language: Bulgarian
The book presents the history of the standardized language of the Bulgarian Catholics living in the multiethnic region of Banat — from its codification in 1866 to the present days. The main part of the research is related to the revitalization of the writing traditions of this community after 1990. The emphasis is on the dynamics of the lexical system of this Bulgarian dialect, caused by the new socio-political and economic conditions. Different visions for its modernization are presented, as well as some attempts for (re)codification of the normative system.
