Serdika in 6th7th century: Coin circulation, weights, seals (Excavations and Research, vol. 47)
Сердика VIVII век. Парично обращение, тежести, печати
Language: Bulgarian with an extended summary in English

The study includes an analysis of coins, weights and seals found during archaeological excavations in Serdica over the past 20 years. These are artifacts that have a direct attitude to trade and economic relations in Serdica and reveal the connection between the city and the central government. Some of the artifacts discussed are not known in the academic literature so far, which makes the problems especially relevant.Despite the huge amount of information about Serdica, the problem of the transition from the Late Antiquity to the Medieval city and the changes that took place in the 6th7th c. still remains unexplored. According to archaeologists, the data on this period seems difficult to establish, which is explained by the unrepresentative nature of homes and structures, as well as their destruction to a large extent by the massive foundations of Ottoman and modern buildings. Against the background of limited and not always chronologically reliable data from the terrain, the present study includes pieces that have a relatively accurate dating  coins, weights, and seals, and which clarify important moments in the history of the city during this period
