    The book attempts to classify the ancient Greek terminology denoting public speaking. A certain polysemic concepts and terms are analyze, such as τέχνη, pήτωρ, δημαγωγos, συνήγoρos, συкофάντηs, the use of which in classical Athens needs to be reconsidered. Without imposing interpretations of the information about the ancient Greek words, the study aims to show the forgotten achievements and disadvantages of the first democracy, expressed through the set of terms.
