The book is dedicated to the Christian adaptation of the ancient mythological dragon fight theme and its expression in Byzantine and Medieval Slavic hagiography. The book explores the influence of the motive in formation of the cults of Theodore Tiron, Theodore Stratelates and George the Victory-Bearer. In the context of the Byzantine and other non-Slavic traditions, all South Slavic translations of the examined hagiographic works are carefully studied.
