For seventeenth consecutive year, the National Archaeological Institute with Museum, together with 23 museums from the country, organizes the temporary exhibition “Bulgarian Archaeology”. The exhibition and the catalogue present the most interesting and impressive discoveries and investigations from the last active archaeological season. A total of 30 sites are included, illustrating the development of cultures in present day Bulgaria from the Neolithic (6000 years BC) until the Bulgarian Revival period (19th century). Among the artefacts on display are gold, silver and bronze adornments, fine ceramic anthropomorphic figurines, pottery vessels, bone scepter and bronze flute, marble votive reliefs and bronze statuettes, glass vessels, tools and weapons, coins, and many others.
